Overall Description
The incumbent will support and seek to embody the Mission and Core Values of the school. He or
she will facilitate student achievement of the DIS Student Learner Outcomes, and student learning
of departmental learning standards.** She or he will create a learning environment and design and
deliver effective instruction / learning experiences aligned with the CEL-5D teaching and learning
framework.

As DIS is grounded in the Christian faith, the teacher will integrate biblical understandings and
service learning into the curriculum, and seek to provide pastoral care and promote spiritual
growth of all students.

As a professional educator, the teacher will collaborate effectively with colleagues and will
demonstrate a self-directed growth mindset, including engaging in ongoing professional learning.
** Standards include: NGSS Standards; U.S. Common Core Math Standards

Specific Role

This teacher will teach a combination of Science & Math in grades 5-12 as appropriate. The exact
combination will be determined later. It is also possible that this teacher will be asked to help
teach a limited amount of Design Technology & STEM subjects in ES (grades 1-4).
The teacher will also contribute to co-curricular activities and spiritual life programs such as
chapel.

Desired Qualifications and Experience

Teacher certification in Math or Science
At least 2 years of teaching experience in Math and/or Science area is preferred
Experience teaching in International schools is preferred
