Job Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated and creative K-12 Design and Technology Teacher to join our school's faculty. This role involves instructing students from kindergarten to 12th grade, helping them develop practical skills and a deep understanding of the principles of design and technology.
Key Responsibilities:
Curriculum Development: Develop and adapt age-appropriate curriculum and teaching materials to effectively instruct students in various design and technology concepts. Align curriculum with educational standards and best practices.
Classroom Instruction: Deliver engaging and interactive lessons to students, ensuring a dynamic learning environment. Foster creativity, problem-solving, and technical proficiency in students.
Hands-On Projects: Plan and supervise hands-on projects that allow students to apply design and technology principles in real-world contexts. These projects may include 3D printing, coding, robotics, and more.
Technology Integration: Integrate technology tools and software into the classroom to enhance instruction and provide students with opportunities to explore cutting-edge design and technology concepts.
Safety Procedures: Teach and enforce safety protocols and best practices in the use of design and technology equipment and tools.
Assessment and Evaluation: Regularly assess student progress and provide constructive feedback. Administer formative and summative activities to evaluate student knowledge, skills and transfer to unfamiliar settings all of this to demonstrate understanding of the learning standards.
Individualized Learning: Provide support and instruction tailored to the individual needs and abilities of students, including those with diverse learning styles.
Collaboration: Collaborate with colleagues to align curricula and interdisciplinary projects, fostering a cohesive educational experience for students.
Professional Development: Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and developments in design and technology education through ongoing professional development opportunities.
